Venkatesh S (9/6/17)

Venkatesh (DOB: 9/6/17) lives with his parents and three siblings in a makeshift tent constructed from drapes and bamboo sticks. They have no access to clean water, electricity, toilets or drainage. The unhygienic environment makes the family susceptible to illness and skin infections. Venkatesh’s parents work as street vendors, selling plastic items, but their minimal earnings barely cover the family’s basic needs. Venkatesh is shy yet active. He enjoys running and playing with his friends. He also likes going to school and looks forward to spending time with his peers. His parents aspire to provide him with a good education, proper nourishment, healthcare and spiritual guidance, but on their own they cannot afford all of these luxuries. Venkatesh aspires to be a soldier and serve his country.
