Venisha (DOB: 4/27/20) really enjoys learning English. She can read and write well for her age and attends school regularly. She enjoys playing running games, hide-and-seek, and cricket with her neighborhood friends. In her free time, she likes listening to songs and dancing along to them. She shares a special bond with her mother and helps with small household chores and errands. She also enjoys ice cream. Venisha lives with her parents in her grandparents’ house, where they do not have toilet facilities. Her father works as a driver, operating tractors and cars, and earns around $4 a day, but he struggles with an alcohol addiction and spends a lot of his income on it. Her mother works as a laborer in a shoe factory and supports the family’s financial needs, including the children’s education. As her parents do not have the opportunity to give Venisha a proper education, they hope India Transformed! will help in the child’s better education and pave the way for a better future for their daughter so she can pursue her dreams of becoming a doctor.
