Thalapathy Maran

Thalapathy Maran is a preschooler who is learning the alphabet, songs and numbers. He enjoys dancing with his classmates. Thalapathy's father, a farmer, and mother, a housewife, delight in their son. He looks after his younger brother Tharvin and enjoys giving him hugs. The family has always been poor and to make matters worse, the child's father recently abandoned the family and married another woman. His mother makes a living through the government's 100-day employment plan at marginal earnings. A sponsor will help Thalapathy Maran with education, clothing and daily access to nutritional meals. Thalapathy, which means "a commander in chief of army soldiers" in Tamil, is a huge and promising name. We hope Thalapathy would one day emerge as a leader.
