Sethu (DOB: 7/5/21) is quiet and gentle. Though shy, he loves dancing and dreams of becoming a police officer to serve his village. He lives with his parents in a small one-room house with a palm-leaf roof and cement floor, furnished with only basic belongings. The family has no toilet facility, relies on public taps for water twice a week, and uses a nearby pond for daily needs. His father has been blind since birth and depends on a small government disability allowance. His mother, the family’s sole earner, works under the government’s 100-day assured employment at minimum wage, but the income is irregular and limited. Due to financial hardship, meeting Sethu’s nutritional, educational, and healthcare needs is a constant struggle. Sponsorship through the childcare program would provide him with nourishment, academic support, and moral guidance, helping him grow in confidence and move closer to achieving his dream.
