Rakshana (DOB: 1/14/18) is the only child of her parents. Her father works as a street vendor, selling recycled plastic items, while her mother manages the household. Their income is barely enough to cover basic needs, leaving little room for any extras. The family lives in a rented tent made of iron sheets which leaks during the rainy season. They lack essential amenities like running water, electricity and toilets. They must travel one to two miles to fetch drinking water. Despite these hardships, Rakshana is a bright and cheerful girl who loves chatting with her friends. She is always full of energy, highly focused, and motivated to achieve more. Rakshana enjoys going to school, where she works hard and excels in her studies. A quick learner, she is passionate about her dream of becoming a teacher. Although her parents could not pursue education beyond high school, they are determined to provide Rakshana with the opportunities they never had.
