Laayra (DOB: 10/12/19) is an innocent and shy little girl, the second child in her family. Gentle by nature, she is also caring and always eager to help her parents and siblings. She loves dancing, drawing and coloring, and dreams of becoming a police officer when she grows up. Laayra enjoys going to school and is bright and intelligent in her studies. During recess, she happily plays hide-and-seek with her friends. Her father works as a daily-wage laborer, spending long hours stitching shoes on the pavement. During the rainy season, he often has no work at all, losing even the day’s small earnings. Her mother is a homemaker. Despite her father’s tireless efforts, the family struggles to meet even their basic needs due to his limited income. His greatest wish is to provide his children with a good education, but school fees and supplies are difficult to afford. Nutritious food is also a challenge, and unhygienic surroundings with open drainage leave the children vulnerable to illness, placing further strain on the family’s fragile finances.
