Durga (DOB: 5/27/18) is a strong-minded, bold, and active girl who loves spending time with her friends. She enjoys singing and never misses an opportunity to showcase her talent. A quick learner, she is passionate about attending school and strives to achieve more in her studies. Durga also enjoys athletics, particularly running. Durga’s father works as a vendor selling steel utensils, while her mother is a homemaker. She lives with her parents and older brother in a makeshift tent that lacks basic necessities such as clean water, electricity, toilets and proper drainage. The unsanitary conditions of their environment make the family vulnerable to illness and skin infections. Despite these challenges, Durga’s parents are determined to provide her with an education. Durga dreams of becoming a nurse so she can serve her community. However, meeting her needs remains a constant struggle for the family.
