Venkatalakshmi (DOB: 9/11/29) lives with her three siblings in a makeshift tent constructed from drapes and bamboo sticks. Their home lacks clean water, electricity, toilets and proper drainage. Their poor living conditions lead to a constant risk of illness and skin infections. Venkatalakshmi’s parents work as street vendors, selling plastic items for a meager income that barely provides enough food for the family. Access to medical assistance is difficult, requiring them to travel long distances if it is needed. Although shy and quiet most of the time, Venkatalakshmi is active and playful. She gives her best in everything she does and enjoys attending school, where she loves playing with her friends. She is interested in her studies and desires to be a nurse when she grows up.
