Vanglen (6/18/22)

Vanglen (DOB: 6/18/22), whose full name is Ngamvanglen, is a bright little boy who is joyfully stepping into his early years of schooling. He is active, curious, and quick to grasp what is taught in class. Even at this young age, he shows a strong interest in sports, especially soccer, and loves playing near his home with his brothers. Along with his playful nature, Vanglen has a sweet side. He enjoys singing and often repeats the songs he hears every day. Vanglen lives with his parents, his paternal grandmother, and his two older brothers in a close-knit family. His parents run a small salon, but their income is not steady, as business is often very low. This makes it difficult for the family to meet their daily needs and provide consistent support for their children’s education. His mother faced a challenging time after she was in an accident that left her with recurring spinal pain. Because of this, she is unable to work for long hours, which further affects the the family’s financial situation. Vanglen’s oldest brother had to discontinue his studies and now helps their parents in the salon to support the family. This reflects the sacrifices the family is making in the face of their struggles. In the midst of these challenges, Vanglen continues to shine with innocence, joy, and a willingness to learn.
