Sai Priya (DOB: 1/19/17) and her three siblings live with their parents in a small makeshift tent made of straw, bamboo sticks and long drapes for a roof. This fragile shelter offers little protection from the elements. They receive water from the government once a week, which they store in large drums, but access is limited, especially during the summer months when the water shortage becomes severe. The family lives without electricity, proper toilets or drainage, making it difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The unsanitary conditions around their home, caused by poor drainage, often lead to illness. Sai Priya’s parents work as street vendors, selling recycled plastic items, but their earnings are not enough to meet the family’s basic needs. Despite their struggles, and lack of formal education, they are deeply committed to providing a better future for their children. Sai Priya is a delightful child who brings joy to everyone with her radiant smile. She loves attending school and looks forward to playing with her friends. She is passionate about singing and dreams of becoming a singer one day.
