Kaveri (DOB: 10/27/18) is a shy and quiet girl, but she enjoys actively participating in sports and games, and she loves studying with her friends. Kaveri lives with her baby brother and parents in a makeshift tent made from old saree drapes, offering little protection from the harsh weather. The family lacks access to essential facilities like electricity, clean water, toilets, drainage and transportation. Their evenings are especially difficult as there are no street lights, leaving their surroundings in complete darkness. Kaveri’s parents earn a minimal income as street vendors selling recycled plastic, which is barely enough to meet the family’s basic needs. Despite being uneducated, her parents are determined to ensure Kaveri gets an education, hoping for a better future for her. However, her family’s financial situation makes it hard to provide her with nutritious food, proper clothing, education and healthcare.
